Who We Are

Our Mission

Faultline is a Texas‑based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening fairness, accuracy, and transparency in eviction‑related housing practices. We exist to ensure that every Texan can navigate the eviction process with clarity, confidence, and access to reliable information grounded in law. Through forensic auditing, compliance education, and public‑interest research, Faultline works to illuminate the procedural standards that govern eviction filings and to expose the gaps that place tenants at risk.

What We Stand For

Faultline stands for truth, transparency, and lawful process in Texas housing. We believe every eviction filing must reflect accurate data, verifiable authority, and full compliance with the Texas Property Code, SB 38, and the Rules of Civil Procedure. When housing systems operate without oversight, tenants lose access to fairness. Faultline exists to restore that balance.

Faultline rejects opaque workflows, fabricated delinquency, and off‑books staging systems that undermine lawful procedure. We stand firmly for a housing landscape where accuracy is mandatory, compliance is expected, and every filing can withstand scrutiny.

We are committed to building a statewide culture of compliance, transparency, and fairness — one verified filing at a time.

Core Values

What guides us

01

Integrity Without Exception

Procedural Truth We believe the eviction process must reflect the truth of a tenant’s actual ledger, notice history, and landlord authority — not automated assumptions or unverified data.

02

Radical Transparency

Public‑Interest Research We conduct non‑partisan analysis to expose systemic issues and promote reforms that strengthen housing integrity statewide.

03

Nonpartisan Accountability

Community Empowerment We provide tools that help Texans verify claims, understand their rights, and participate meaningfully in their own housing matters.

04

Community First

Non‑Partisan Compliance Our work is grounded in law, not politics. Faultline’s commitment is to lawful process, accurate filings, and transparent systems.

How We Started

Faultline began with a simple but urgent realization: the eviction process in Texas had drifted far from the standards required by law. Tenants were facing filings generated through automated systems, off‑books platforms, and workflows that lacked the transparency, accuracy, and authority verification that the Texas Property Code demands. What should have been a clear legal process had become a maze of opaque technology, inconsistent ledgers, and filings that often could not withstand scrutiny.
